Speaking on the loss, Oluyede said, “It is truly regrettable. Under the leadership of President Bola Tinubu, every possible effort was made for him to remain with us. But as we know, life and death are in God’s hands.” He noted the Nigerian Army is in mourning, remembering Lagbaja as a leader who was wholly committed to Nigeria and led with passion and selflessness.

“He was courageous, thorough, and professional to the core—a significant loss for us. At this moment, we pray that God grants him peace,” he said.

Oluyede called on Nigerians to celebrate Lagbaja for his contributions, thanking President Tinubu, the First Lady, and all Nigerians who supported and kept in touch during Lagbaja’s final days. He concluded by praying for the late general’s soul to rest in peace.
