Benue State Commissioner of Police, Cletus Nwadiogbu, has clarified that the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC) never instructed the police to pass along any notification letter to Governor Hyacinth Alia regarding Peter Obi’s recent visit.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Speaking on Channels Television’s Lunch Time Politics, Nwadiogbu explained that the delegation arrived at his office late on the scheduled day—around 5:30 pm instead of the expected 3:00 pm—to officially inform the command of Obi’s arrival the following morning for security provisioning.

Addressing previous reports and claims shared by Obi’s spokesman, Valentine Obienyem, alongside counter-claims from the state government, the commissioner emphasized that the document was presented strictly for operational security coordination. Despite a tight manpower situation, Nwadiogbu noted that upon being assured the visit was non-political and required only modest security, he deployed three full patrol teams led by the Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of operations.

Nwadiogbu firmly concluded that transmitting the communication to the governor was never part of their mandate or request, and reiterated that the assigned officers were solely deployed to maintain security rather than manage protests.

National Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate Peter Obi has declared that he intends to maintain the current administration’s free-floating exchange rate policy should he secure the presidency. Defined as a system where currency values are dictated entirely by open market forces without central bank intervention, this mechanism was instituted when the Central Bank of Nigeria launched its unified “willing buyer, willing seller” model on June 14, 2023. Responding during a Thursday appearance on Arise TV regarding which current reforms he would preserve, Obi noted that while he would not defend the naira’s current valuation, he would keep the floating system and focus heavily on boosting domestic productivity to naturally strengthen the currency’s worth.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Transitioning to electoral matters during the same interview, Obi levied serious accusations against Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Chairman Mahmood Yakubu, alleging that the electoral chief actively worked in favor of the political opposition during the 2023 general elections. Asserting that Nigerians had naively trusted the commission’s assurances of a transparent process, Obi warned that the electorate will not repeat that mistake in 2027, emphasizing that future security of the ballot will rely entirely on citizens taking proactive measures rather than placing blind trust in INEC’s leadership.
