In response to social media claims suggesting he was responsible for reporting the account, Peller acknowledged seeing such allegations. He explained that Carter Efe had engaged in specific activities during a livestream—including opening a boxer—that likely led to the suspension, suggesting Carter Efe may not have realized the consequences of his actions.

While Peller did not explicitly deny the rumors, he stated that Carter Efe is a young man who should be left to handle the challenges arising from the situation.

Consequently, the National Assembly has urged the South African government to take urgent action to protect foreign nationals, thoroughly investigate attacks, and bring perpetrators to justice. Furthermore, the federal parliament has encouraged the 36 State Houses of Assembly to consider enacting similar protective measures while noting that the current suspension remains subject to review based on future developments regarding the safety of Nigerians in South Africa.
