IPAC Urges Nigerian Government To Explore Alternative Petroleum Transport Solutions Following Jigawa Tanker Explosion. This appeal comes in response to a devastating fuel tanker explosion in Majiya, Taura Local Government Area, Jigawa State, which resulted in the deaths of over 150 people and left many others injured.
In a statement signed by its National Chairman, Yusuf Mamman Dantalle, IPAC expressed deep sorrow for the families affected by the tragedy, emphasizing the need for action to prevent such incidents in the future. The council highlighted the increasing frequency of fuel tanker accidents and explosions across the country, often involving individuals attempting to scoop fuel.
IPAC urged the public to avoid fuel scooping at accident sites and called on the Road Safety Corps to educate citizens about the risks associated with such practices. The council pledged solidarity with the people of Jigawa State and expressed hope for a safer and more secure Nigeria.
Additionally, IPAC extended prayers for the families who lost loved ones, seeking divine comfort for them and a swift recovery for the injured.
