The incident occurred on the evening of October 15 during a routine training flight, according to Navy officials.
The downed aircraft is identified as an EA-18G Growler, a specialized electronic attack jet from the F/A-18 series. As of 7 p.m. on the day of the crash, the status of the crew members remained unknown.
The rescue efforts are being coordinated using a Navy MH-60S helicopter, which was dispatched from Naval Air Station Whidbey Island, located north of Seattle. The operation is still active, with authorities yet to determine the cause of the crash or the fate of the crew.
