Court Confirms: Monday Okpebholo Has Not Been Disqualified – PDP’s False News Condemned
Court Confirms: Monday Okpebholo Has Not Been Disqualified – PDP’s False News CondemnedRE: FALSE REPORTS OF DISQUALIFICATION OF SENATOR MONDAY OKPEBHOLOThe attention of the APC New Media Directorate has been drawn to the malicious and false reports being circulated by the PDP, alleging the disqualification of our candidate, Senator Monday Okpebholo, from the Edo State Governorship Election. We unequivocally condemn this deliberate act of misinformation, which is nothing but a desperate attempt by the PDP to deceive the public and divert attention from their impending defeat.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
The claims made by the PDP about Senator Okpebholo’s disqualification due to allegations of age falsification and forgery are entirely FALSE. As confirmed by the Magistrate Court of the Federal Capital Territory, no judgment has been delivered regarding this matter, and the case is still under investigation. The court has made it clear that the story being peddled is misleading and an affront to the legal process.
“For the purpose of clarification, a Magistrate Court has no jurisdiction over electoral matters.” Electoral disputes, particularly those involving qualifications and disqualifications of candidates, fall under the purview of higher courts, such as the Federal High Court or Election Petition Tribunals. Any attempt to suggest that a Magistrate Court can rule on such matters is not only misleading but also demonstrates a lack of understanding of the law.
We urge the good people of Edo State to disregard this falsehood and remain focused on the upcoming election. This is a well-known diversionary tactic by the PDP to cause confusion and discourage voters. It is important to note that spreading false information is punishable by law, and the perpetrators of this fake news will be held accountable.
Senator Monday Okpebholo remains a legitimate candidate in the Edo State Governorship Election, and the APC stands strong and united, ready to deliver progress and prosperity to the people of Edo State.
We encourage all eligible voters to come out en masse on election day to cast their votes for the APC and ensure that the future of Edo State is secured under a leadership committed to development, integrity, and transparency.
Signed,
Osigwe Omo-Ikirodah
Director, APC New Media Directorate

In a media statement released by his spokesperson, Phrank Shaibu, and titled “Atiku boasts of stakeholders, Trump support on fuel subsidy,” the former vice president explained that his proposed “Production Subsidy” aims to put money back into citizens’ pockets by prioritizing local manufacturing and petroleum refining over heavy import reliance. According to Atiku, boosting domestic output and supply will ease pressure on buyers and ensure lower pump prices. He noted that just as the Crude Oil Refinery Owners Association of Nigeria (CORAN) advocates for domestic production, the United States under Trump recognizes the critical need to support strategic energy output. Furthermore, Atiku criticized President Bola Tinubu’s administration for condemning citizen-focused relief while simultaneously granting financial concessions and waivers to favored corporate entities and multinational oil businesses.
