• Friday: Partly cloudy morning skies will give way to morning thunderstorms and moderate rains in Taraba and Adamawa. Afternoon and evening storms are expected to sweep through Borno, Yobe, Bauchi, Gombe, Kano, Jigawa, Sokoto, Kebbi, Zamfara, Adamawa, and Taraba.

North-Central Region Outlook

• Wednesday: Morning hours will bring thunderstorms and light rains to Nasarawa, Niger, Benue, and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), escalating to thunderstorms with moderate rains across most of the region later in the day.

• Thursday: Sunny skies with cloud patches will start the day, accompanied by morning thunderstorms and light rains over the FCT, Nasarawa, Plateau, Niger, and Benue. Moderate thunderstorms are expected to cover the entire region by afternoon and evening.

• Friday: The central region will experience sunny skies with cloud patches, alongside morning thunderstorms and light rains in the FCT, Benue, Kogi, Nasarawa, and Niger, before moderate thunderstorms spread across most areas later in the day.

Southern Region Outlook

• Wednesday: A cloudy morning with expected rains over Lagos, Ondo, Ogun, Oyo, Rivers, Bayelsa, Delta, Edo, Cross River, Abia, Imo, Ebonyi, and Akwa Ibom, leading to widespread moderate rains later in the day.

• Thursday: Early morning light rains are predicted for parts of Ondo, Ogun, Abia, Imo, Enugu, Ebonyi, Lagos, Akwa Ibom, and Cross River, transitioning into continuous rains across most of the region as the day progresses. The agency specifically flagged a high flood risk for parts of Imo, Abia, Ebonyi, Akwa Ibom, and Cross River during this period.

• Friday: Morning conditions will stay cloudy with moderate rains over Ondo, Ebonyi, Lagos, Ogun, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, and Cross River, with moderate rains persisting across the majority of the region later in the day.

Safety Precautions and Advisories NiMet warned that strong winds could precede thunderstorms in affected areas and urged the public to secure loose objects. Additional safety measures include:

• Emergency Activation: States prone to flash floods must activate emergency response systems immediately.

• Travel and Power Safety: Avoid driving through heavy rain, unplug electrical appliances, and stay away from tall trees to prevent injuries from falling branches.

• Aviation and Updates: Airline operators must secure airport-specific flight documentation from NiMet, and residents are advised to stay updated via official weather reports.
