Edo 2024: Labour Party’s Akpata’s Robust Plan To Revolutionize Rural Healthcare....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Written By Oshiobugie John

As the September 21, 2024, gubernatorial election in Edo State approaches, Labour Party candidate Akpata Olumide Osaigbovo has unveiled a comprehensive plan to enhance healthcare accessibility for Edolites, particularly those residing in rural areas. Recognizing the significant healthcare disparities that exist between urban and rural communities, Akpata’s initiative aims to bridge this gap through a multifaceted approach designed to bring essential medical services closer to those who need them most.

One of the cornerstone proposals in Akpata’s healthcare plan involves establishing mobile health clinics that will travel to remote villages and underserved areas. These mobile units will be equipped with necessary medical supplies and staffed by trained healthcare professionals, ensuring that residents who might otherwise have limited access to healthcare services receive regular check-ups, vaccinations, and emergency care. This approach not only aims to provide immediate relief but also to build long-term health resilience in these communities.

Additionally, Akpata plans to partner with local and international health organizations to build and upgrade primary healthcare centers in rural areas. These centers will be strategically located to serve as accessible hubs for routine medical care, maternal and child health services, and preventive care. By improving infrastructure and increasing the availability of healthcare resources in rural areas, Akpata’s vision includes reducing travel time and costs for residents seeking medical attention.

To support this initiative, Akpata’s administration will also focus on training and employing local healthcare workers. This will not only create job opportunities within these communities but also ensure that healthcare services are provided by individuals who are familiar with and dedicated to their local needs. Through these efforts, Akpata Olumide Osaigbovo aims to make significant strides towards improving healthcare accessibility and quality for all Edolites, paving the way for a healthier and more equitable Edo State.

Addressing broader political developments ahead of the 2027 elections during his monthly media parley, Wike emphasized that he refuses to remain a passive spectator and let African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar secure a victory. Defending his frequent presence in Rivers State, the minister rejected labels that he had permanently relocated, explaining that he needs to stay actively connected with local constituents rather than sitting comfortably in Abuja and trusting unverified assurances from political allies. ‘They Are Deceiving Makinde, He Will Lose Supporters Before 2027 Elections – Ojo

Published

on

Adebayo Mutalubi Ojo, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria and former Oyo State Commissioner for Justice, has cautioned that Governor Seyi Makinde is likely to face a mass withdrawal of support from key political allies ahead of the 2027 general elections. Speaking on the political podcast OpenForum360, Ojo noted that the true political dynamics in the state will surface by December 2026, claiming that many politicians currently pledging loyalty to Makinde are merely biding their time before openly opposing his preferred gubernatorial successor, Bimbo Adekanmbi.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

The former commissioner pointed out that while Makinde’s high popularity remains his greatest political asset, it could simultaneously turn into a heavy liability. Because Adekanmbi is heavily backed by the governor, Ojo likened their political alignment to “Siamese twins,” warning that Adekanmbi will inevitably inherit both Makinde’s political goodwill and his adversaries. He further criticized the internal handling of party politics, suggesting that a transparent and democratic primary process within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) might have altered the turbulent reactions surrounding the choice of successor.

Drawing comparisons to internal fissures within the All Progressives Congress (APC)—where figures like Adebayo Adelabu, Senator Buhari, and others have navigated distinct political positions—Ojo asserted that many within Makinde’s camp are masking their true reservations. He warned that similar quiet discontent previously led to severe electoral consequences for ruling parties in places like Osun State. Concluding his assessment, Ojo expressed personal regard for Adekanmbi as a friend, but cautioned that the inner circle surrounding the candidate risks insulating him from harsh political realities.
