The announcement was made in a press release from the State House, Abuja, and was shared by Vice President Kashim Shettima on his official X account on Tuesday.
Shettima, during the launch of the AI Expertise Blockchain and Technology Training and Outsourcing Initiative in Dutse, highlighted the grant as a key component of Nigeria’s strategy for digital transformation and its goal to lead in technological advancements across Africa.
In his speech, Shettima noted that Nigeria is not only advancing in technology but is also on track to surpass global standards in economic and technological progress.
Earlier, Shettima also inaugurated the 4th edition of the Expanded National MSMEs Clinic, where he revealed that President Tinubu had directed the grant to provide substantial support to Jigawa’s business community. The ₦150,000 grant is a non-repayable sum, designed to offer immediate relief and support.
This announcement coincided with the expedited passage of the National Minimum Wage Act 2019 (Amendment Bill) by both the Senate and the House of Representatives, which raised the national minimum wage from ₦30,000 to ₦70,000.

In a released statement, Kwankwaso asserted that the perpetrators were intentionally deployed to obstruct Obi from entering Makurdi.
