This statement follows the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) report indicating that inflation rose to 34.19 percent in June 2024.
DAILY POST noted that the rise in living costs stemmed from the naira’s floating and the removal of fuel subsidies by the current administration.
However, Oshiomhole, a former governor representing Edo North in the Senate, expressed confidence that Tinubu’s policies would eventually bear fruit, emphasizing the need for patience.
“It’s important to acknowledge that some policy initiatives may take more than a year to manifest,” he stated.
“What would the president gain by opting for policies unlikely to provide sustained relief over time?”
“So, I believe it’s about maintaining confidence that, in the long term, these measures will prove effective,” he concluded.

When the appointment was first announced, Bayo Onanuga, the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, highlighted Aina’s deep background in digital infrastructure, public-sector reforms, and national examination systems, noting his historic milestone as one of Nigeria’s youngest computer engineering professors.
In his inaugural address, Aina acknowledged the foundation laid by his predecessor—who is widely credited with modernizing the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME)—and vowed to expand on those achievements. Emphasizing a strong stance against malpractice, he warned wrongdoers that their illicit activities have no place at JAMB, promising to ramp up modern technological investments and deepen partnerships with security agencies to safeguard the integrity of the admissions process.
