Retired Maj.-Gen. Chris Olukolade, Chairman of CCC’s Board of Trustees, issued this warning during a press briefing in Abuja on Monday, while presenting the centre’s Conflict Trends Analysis (CTA) for the second quarter.

He underscored that Nigeria should not model its democratic processes after the experiences in Kenya, stating that violence only invites further instability amid the country’s existing internal security challenges. Referencing the aftermath of the ‘EndSars Protest,’ he urged Nigerian youths to reject any activities that could escalate into crisis and harm national unity.

Olukolade also called on the government to address prevailing challenges proactively to mitigate tensions and unrest across the nation, highlighting the CCC’s deep apprehension regarding recent incidents of unrest in various regions.
