Inspiring Integrity: Nigerian Pilgrim Returns €1,750 Lost In Makkah’s Haram....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

A Nigerian pilgrim from Gumi Local Government Area of Zamfara State, Muhammad Na’Allah, has demonstrated remarkable honesty by returning €1,750 (One thousand, seven hundred and fifty Euros) which he found at the Haram in Makkah, Saudi Arabia.

Na’Allah handed the money over to the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) for it to be returned to its rightful owner.

This act of integrity marks the second such instance by Nigerian pilgrims this year. Previously, Abba Limawa from Dutse Local Government Area of Jigawa State returned 10,500 Russian Rubles, 800 Dollars, and 690 Saudi Riyals.

Upon receiving the €1,750 at the NAHCON office in Ummuljud, Makkah, the commission’s chairman, Malam Jalal Ahmad Arabi, praised Na’Allah. He remarked that Na’Allah’s actions reflect his name, symbolizing his closeness to Allah, and demonstrate the positive impact of his pilgrimage on his character.

“This shows his pilgrimage has positively impacted his personal character, behavior, and attitude,” Arabi told officials from the Zamfara State Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, who accompanied Na’Allah to the commission’s office.

Last week, Arabi also commended the honesty of the Jigawa pilgrim, Limawa, who had returned lost money, highlighting how such actions project a positive image of Nigeria internationally.

Na’Allah recounted how he found the money in a waist bag while heading to pray at the Masjid Haram (Mosque). Initially tempted to ignore the bag, he reconsidered, suspecting it might belong to a fellow Nigerian pilgrim, especially one of the older women. Upon inspecting the bag later, he found no indication that it belonged to a Nigerian. He then reported the find to an official from the Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board, who praised his honesty and ensured the money was handed over to NAHCON for safekeeping and return to its owner.

Limawa similarly explained his decision to return the money he found, emphasizing his desire to do the right thing and ensure the funds were returned to their rightful owner through official channels.`

Ambassadorial Nomination Under Fire: Frank Tie Tie Exposes ‘Mistake’ Regarding Ex-FUOYE VC Fasina!.

Human rights lawyer Frank Tietie has criticized the nomination and subsequent confirmation of Professor Abayomi Fasina, the former Vice-Chancellor of the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, as a non-career ambassador designate.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

  • Prior to his confirmation, a coalition of civil society organizations protested at the National Assembly on July 7, 2026, opposing Fasina’s nomination due to pending court cases involving allegations of sexual harassment, human rights violations, and victimization.

  • Despite these protests, the Nigerian Senate officially confirmed Fasina’s appointment as a non-career ambassador on Thursday.

Frank Tietie’s Position

  • During an interview on ARISE Television, Tietie argued that nominating an individual with such “baggage” was a mistake, emphasizing that ambassadors represent Nigeria in the same capacity as the President.

  • Tietie stated that the government should have sent the “right signals” by avoiding such controversial appointments, especially given the current state of governance.

  • He argued that even in the absence of a final court judgment, the allegations themselves have “tainted” Fasina’s reputation, and the Senate should have delayed the confirmation until the legal matters were resolved.

  • Tietie also suggested that the National Assembly’s decision overlooks significant social changes regarding how such allegations are now viewed by society.
