The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) carried out a nighttime operation in the Kuka Shidda camp, located in the Faskari local government area of Katsina State, resulting in the demise of over 100 terrorists.

According to reports from Naija News, the operation, led by Operation Hadarin Daji troops, targeted a criminal faction associated with the infamous terrorist leader Yusuf Yellow and his close accomplice Rabe Imani.

In a statement released by the spokesperson for the Katsina State governor, Ibrahim Kaula, it was disclosed that more than 45 motorcycles were obliterated in the airstrikes.

Kaula emphasized that the recent aerial assault by the Nigerian Air Force in the Faskari-Kankara region had significantly disrupted the activities of the bandits, marking the third successful intervention in the state.

Additionally, Kaula noted that a rapid response from security forces thwarted a kidnapping attempt in the early hours of Sunday morning in the Jibia local government area of the state, leading to the rescue of three hostages.

The statement revealed, “A credible police source informed us that a distress call regarding the abduction of residents in the Kwata area of Jibia local government area was received around 4:15 am. Without delay, a police patrol team led by a Superintendent of Police (Supol) rushed to the scene.”

Upon arrival, the team encountered armed bandits holding three women captive. Acting swiftly, the officers blocked the kidnappers’ escape route, triggering a confrontation. A gun battle ensued, forcing the criminals to flee.

Fortunately, all three kidnapped victims – Ummulkhari Abubakar (23), Shafa’atu Abubakar (35), and Maryam Lawal (15) – were rescued unharmed. The team also ensured the safety of a six-month-old baby boy named Ismail Usman, who was among the abductees.

The statement underscored that the security forces demonstrated commendable restraint during the operation, using only 14 rounds of ammunition and 20 smoke canisters.

This swift response not only saved lives but also sent a resounding message to criminals that such nefarious acts will not be tolerated.

Moreover, the statement highlighted the unwavering commitment of the NAF and local law enforcement agencies to safeguarding the citizens of Katsina State from criminal activities.

Adewara said the PDP would not remain silent while what he called “political narratives” are used to influence public perception around a tragic incident that claimed multiple lives in Offa in 2018.
