He highlighted the prolonged dependence of the nation’s economy on oil revenues and emphasized the importance of diversifying into sectors such as agriculture, manufacturing, technology, and renewable energy, which offer opportunities to mitigate the impact of fluctuating crude oil prices.

Addressing the event’s theme, “The Search for a Robust Economy in Nigeria: A Multidimensional Approach,” Evinemi described it as pertinent and timely.

He stated, “The quest for a robust economy demands a multidimensional perspective. We must recognize that we cannot measure economic strength solely by GDP growth or fiscal policies. It encompasses social equity, environmental sustainability, and technological innovation. Let us explore solutions that integrate these dimensions harmoniously.”

Evinemi emphasized the pivotal role of human capital in economic progress, underscoring the importance of education, skills development, and healthcare in ensuring a sustainable workforce capable of driving innovation and productivity.

Advocating for policy consistency, he stressed the necessity for continuity in economic policies across administrations to maintain progress and stability in the business environment. Evinemi also highlighted the significance of collaboration between the government and the private sector in accelerating economic growth and urged the creation of an ecosystem conducive to business growth, job creation, and national development.
