June 12: Igbos Are Big Losers Of Democracy – Nnamdi Kanu’s Lawyer
Aloy Ejimakor, Lead Counsel for Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has asserted that the Igbo people are the biggest losers in Nigeria’s democratic system.

Naija News reports that Ejimakor’s statement follows his accusations against Yusuf Bichi, the Director General of the Department of State Services (DSS), and the Nigerian government for defying court orders regarding Kanu’s release.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

In his notice, Ejimakor criticized the DSS chief for not providing Kanu with access to his lawyers in a safe and clean environment, as mandated by the court. Kanu, who is detained at the DSS facility in Abuja, has complained to the Appeal Court about the inadequate conditions for preparing his defense with his legal team.

On Democracy Day, Ejimakor posted on his X handle, condemning the state of democracy in Nigeria, particularly its intolerance for free speech and lack of equality before the law. He stated:

“Democracy is a farce without tolerance for free speech & equality of all before the law. The truth must be told that #Ndigbo are the big losers in this ‘democracy’ & there’s no better proof of it than abusing the process of our Courts to oppress MAZI NNAMDI KANU. Prove me wrong.”
