Kaduna Police Apprehend Bandits, Recover Arms And Vehicles
According to a statement by the Command’s spokesperson, ASP Mansir Hassan, one of the apprehended suspects, Babangida Sani, was intercepted during a routine patrol near the Agoro Level Crossing area. Additionally, the Anti-Car Theft Unit of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) recovered two abandoned vehicles, a Toyota Matrix and a Toyota Camry LE, based on a tip-off received on June 4, 2024, in Mogadishu, Kaduna. Another vehicle, a stolen white Toyota Hilux van, was found at Yazid Hotel on Ali Akilu Road, Kaduna, on June 5, 2024.
Further investigations led to the arrest of three suspects from Zamfara State, who were found in possession of two additional vehicles suspected to be stolen.
In a separate incident on June 5, 2024, the DPO Millennium City Division received a report from the Sabon Gida vigilante group about armed men spotted on a motorcycle heading towards the Eastern Bypass. A joint team comprising police patrol officers, a military strike force, and local vigilantes intercepted the suspects near Kakura 2 Village along Umar Musa Yar’Adua Way. Although two suspects managed to escape, the motorcycle rider, identified as Buhari Madaki, was captured.
