Rotimi emphasized the need for honest and transparent dialogue, stating that Organised Labour has consistently exaggerated figures to incite public resentment. He asserted that these tactics not only mislead the public but also unfairly vilify the parliament.

“It is important to address persistent misinformation and disinformation propagated by Organised Labour Leadership regarding the earnings of lawmakers. This is especially because Organised Labour has for years, contributed to false narratives about the remuneration of Members of the National Assembly, exaggerating figures to stoke public resentment and undermine the credibility of the Legislature,” Rotimi stated.

He continued, “This tactic diverts attention from the core issues at stake and unfairly vilifies the institution of parliament. All parties must engage in an honest and transparent dialogue rather than resorting to the spread of inaccuracies for political leverage. Contrary to the insinuations of the Labour Leadership through its social media platforms, the Legislature is on the side of Nigerians and will continue to act in the best interest of our constituents – giving meaning to their mandate.”

Rotimi highlighted the commitment of the 10th House of Representatives to strengthen legislation that ensures essential services remain operational during industrial actions, thereby protecting the lives and well-being of all Nigerians. He urged the Leadership of Organised Labour to return to the negotiation table and engage other stakeholders in good faith to achieve balanced and sustainable outcomes.

Pastor Egbaji, a Nigerian cleric, was said to have endured harsh treatment during his detention, including prolonged confinement. His release followed a presidential pardon granted by the authorities in Benin Republic under President Patrice Talon.

Speaking on News Central TV, Dr. Kehinde praised the diplomatic efforts that led to the cleric’s freedom, describing the process as lengthy and challenging. He noted that significant progress was achieved after Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu was appointed Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.
