Eid el-Kabir: Sultan Urges Muslims To Watch For New Moon On Thursday

In a statement signed by Prof. Sambo Wali Junaidu, Chairman of the Advisory Committee on Religious Affairs, Sultanate Council Sokoto, it was noted that Thursday marks the 29th day of Dhul’qidah 1445 AH.
Muslims are urged to watch for the sighting of the new moon and report it to the nearest district or village heads for further communication to the Sultan.
Dhul-Hijjah is the 12th month in the Islamic calendar and holds significance as one of the sacred months during which the Hajj pilgrimage takes place, culminating in the celebration of Eid al-Adha.
