Engr Adeboje Taiwo Bode (ASUP Chairman), Mr Titiloye Joseph (SSANIP Chairman), and Mr Jayeola Titus (NASU Chairman) collectively signed the statement. The institution, owned by the Oyo State government, prompted these workers to call for immediate attention to critical welfare issues.
While acknowledging the timely payment of salaries, a directive from Governor Seyi Makinde, the workers underscored the need for the government to address lingering concerns to maintain industrial harmony. They expressed discontent with the practice of supplementing salaries with Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) and urged for full subvention from the state to alleviate this burden.
Additionally, they demanded the restoration of the institution’s capability to meet operational needs without reliance on supplementary funds. Criticism was also directed towards the Platinum Consultant overseeing revenue practices, highlighting their retention of 10% of all IGR as exploitative and unnecessary. The workers advocated for the institution’s exemption from the consultant’s oversight to ensure fairness and operational efficiency.
Lastly, the plea included a call for the employment of full-time staff to address inadequate manpower within the institution.
