Speaking at the Ministerial Sectoral News Conference marking President Tinubu’s first anniversary, Dr. Anite emphasized the pivotal role of this programme in catalyzing economic growth. She underscored its significance in not only offering financial assistance but also in fostering the development of industrial clusters, a cornerstone of Nigeria’s industrialization drive.
Highlighting the partnership with the Bank of Industry (BOI), Dr. Anite outlined the phased disbursement of grants, ensuring that funds reach those in need efficiently. Moreover, she reiterated President Tinubu’s unwavering commitment to bolstering manufacturing and industrial clusters, pivotal engines of economic progress.
However, challenges persist, notably in access to reliable power supply. Dr. Anite shed light on ongoing efforts to address this issue, with initiatives such as the “Light Up” campaign targeting industrial zones deprived of electricity. By connecting these clusters to power grids or alternative energy sources like gas, the government aims to enhance their productivity and competitiveness, ultimately driving job creation and fostering inclusive prosperity.
As Nigeria navigates through economic headwinds, the N200 billion Presidential Palliative Programme stands as a beacon of hope, offering much-needed support to businesses and reaffirming the administration’s commitment to steering the nation towards a path of sustained growth and development.
