Written By Oshiobugie John

Yesterday, in the vibrant city of Edo State, history was made as Olumide Osaigbovo Akpata, alongside his party members, inaugurated the Labour Party Edo State 2024 Gubernatorial Election Campaign Council.

On Friday, Edo State was on lockdown as leading governorship candidate Akpata made a bold statement with the inauguration of the Labour Party Edo State 2024 Gubernatorial Election Campaign Council. The council is composed of dedicated and experienced party members.

Speaking to the press, Akpata summarized the event: “I am extremely grateful to God. Today is a significant milestone in our campaign. The inauguration of our campaign committee fills me with extreme confidence. The party has chosen well. We have an array of very faithful and loyal party men and women, and in the person of Bishop Sam Omede, we have combined all these attributes. He is the dean, the political giant in Edo State, and understands it very well. I am delighted the party has settled on him as our director general.

“We also came up with the innovation of a deputy director general for each zone, picking three very distinguished gentlemen to run each zone and assist Reverend Omede as our director general. For the women mobilization committee, our women leader is the chair. You can understand why I am brimming with confidence and excitement.

“We also have coordinators for each local government. Labour Party is present in all local governments. Our campaign will be present in all local governments. I am hopeful, confident, and assured of victory come September 21.”

Akpata also expressed his gratitude to the members of the campaign council for accepting their roles.

This groundbreaking development by the Labour Party has sparked excitement among Edolites, who are now eager for Akpata and his party to unleash his much-anticipated manifesto, fully focused on people-centric and revolutionary leadership.
