Speaking through his spokesperson, Chief Emmanuel Igwe, Odii emphasized that individuals entrusted with public resources must provide a full account of their stewardship. He is demanding complete transparency regarding the money supposedly spent on constructing 627 kilometers of roads by the Ebonyi State Government, including the release of bidding procedures, procurement documents, payment details, variations, and project certificates.
Additionally, Odii wants clarification on expenditures tied to several major projects, such as the Vanco Flyover, the ICT University, Oferekpe, the Aeronautic University in Onueke, a disputed two-kilometer road initiative, and the residential duplexes built for traditional rulers.
He further urged the state administration to publicize its FAAC receipts, local government and development center allocations, actual council earnings, spending logs, and grants acquired from donor agencies, asserting that every single unit of taxpayers’ funds requires proper accountability.
As part of these demands, Odii revealed that a pre-action notice providing a seven-day ultimatum will be issued to the Ebonyi State Government to release the requested records, or face subsequent legal action. He criticized Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru’s administration for managing large amounts of public funds with a lack of transparency.
Finally, Odii advised the citizens of Ebonyi to stay calm and assured them that an administration under his leadership in 2027 would prioritize transparency and accountability. He also encouraged voters to safeguard their ballots, reminding them that true leadership power remains with the electorate.
