Those named in the charge include retired Major General Mohammed Ibrahim Gana, retired Naval Captain Erasmus Ochegobia Victor, Inspector Ahmed Ibrahim, Zekeri Umoru, Bukar Kashim Goni, Abdulkadir Sani, and former Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Timipre Sylva, who is currently said to be at large.

The charge sheet alleges that the defendants conspired in 2025 in Abuja to commit acts of terrorism and to “levy war” against the Nigerian state.

They were also accused of failing to disclose intelligence about the alleged plot and of not taking steps to prevent it despite having prior knowledge.

The defendants are expected to be arraigned before Justice Joyce Abdulmalik of the Federal High Court, Abuja, where the charges will be formally read and their pleas taken.

As of the time of filing this report, proceedings had not yet begun, with tight security deployed around the court premises as officials awaited the arrival of the remaining defendants.

“Haba, Na Only You?” – Donald Duke Mocks Atiku Over Persistent Presidential Ambition.

Published

on

Former Cross River State Governor, Donald Duke, has expressed surprise over former Vice President Atiku Abubakar’s repeated bids for the Nigerian presidency, describing the trend as excessive.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Duke said he finds Atiku’s continued ambition for the nation’s top office questionable, noting that it has spanned nearly three decades.

Speaking at a recent event, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) chieftain recalled that Atiku has consistently contested for the presidency since 1992, beginning with the race against late MKO Abiola. He noted that Atiku also ran in 2003 against former President Olusegun Obasanjo, in 2007, in 2011 against Goodluck Jonathan, and again in 2019 and 2023.

He questioned the persistence, saying: “Since 1992, Atiku has been running for president… Haba! Na only you dey?”

Duke argued that political leaders should know when to step aside and allow others to take on leadership roles, suggesting that Atiku could instead serve as a “kingmaker” rather than continuing to pursue the presidency.

He also commented on Nigeria’s leadership rotation, pointing to concerns about regional balance in governance. According to him, it would be difficult to justify prolonged dominance of leadership from one region over successive election cycles.

He added that while he is not strictly in support of zoning, fairness and equity should be considered in national leadership choices.
