Women Protest In Okoloba Over Alleged Return Of Armed Men In The Community....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
The women of Okoloba community in Bomadi local government area have taken to the streets in large numbers to express their concerns over the return of armed youths from Okuama in Ughelli South local government area. They fear that this development poses a threat to the peace and security of the riverine area in Delta State.
Led by the chairlady of the Okoloba community, Timipakebi Goodwin, and the secretary, Mary Koibi, the women were seen demonstrating with placards in a peaceful protest along the coastal fringe of their community. They chanted against violence and bloodshed, emphasizing the need for peace.
In a statement addressed to security agencies such as the police, DSS, NSCDC, JTF, and the acting chairman of Bomadi local government council, Goodwin highlighted the recent killing by the youths of Okuama as evidence of their potential for violence.
Mrs. Goodwin expressed sympathy for the killing of 17 soldiers and officers of the Nigerian army on a peace and rescue mission to Okuama following the kidnap of their son. She mourned their untimely death and prayed for the repose of their souls and their families.
However, she pointed out that less than 24 hours after the troops left Okuama, another crisis erupted with a neighboring community, resulting in the killing of one person and serious injuries to three others. Mrs. Goodwin alleged that the victims were looting, but emphasized that the sanctity of human life means nothing to the people of Okuama.
She further claimed that the recent actions of the Okuama youths, including shooting sporadically in the air and wearing camouflage while traveling in speedboats, indicate their readiness for violence. Mrs. Goodwin called on the federal government to intervene and proposed relocating Okuama to the Ewu clan in Ughelli South Local Government Area, where they share ancestry and dialect with the Urhobo people.
The women of Okoloba demand peace and safety in their community and urge authorities to take decisive action to prevent further clashes and bloodshed.

Following the alleged altercation, he was rushed to the Military Hospital on Awolowo Road, Ikoyi, for medical attention and theatre evaluation.
-
A family source corroborated that relatives were later informed of the incident, claiming that Bolarinwa reported being severely beaten and subjected to physical abuse during a search for a mobile phone.

Background on Conviction
Bolarinwa has been serving a prison sentence following his initial remand in April 2022 by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Justice Taiwo convicted him on all 13 counts, sentencing him to seven years’ imprisonment without the option of a fine, ordering asset forfeitures, and directing him to pay ₦20 million in restitution.
