Tragic Accident Claims Seven Lives On Ibadan-Iseyin Road

Mr. Mayowa Odewo, the Public Relations Officer of FRSC, Oyo Sector Command, revealed that among the deceased were five male adults, one female adult, and one female child. The accident involved a Nissan Urvan commercial bus (SEY 254 ZY) and a Mazda commercial bus (LGB 343 XA), and it was primarily attributed to speed violations and driver fatigue.
Out of the 22 individuals involved in the crash, 15 sustained varying degrees of injuries, consisting of three male adults, nine female adults, and one female child. The injured victims have been promptly transported to a nearby hospital for medical attention.
Odewo further stated that four of the deceased have been claimed by their families, while the bodies of the remaining three have been deposited at a morgue. The police from the Motor Traffic Division, MTD Police Division, Moniya, Ibadan, have taken possession of the two crashed vehicles along with bags and other valuables recovered from the victims.
In the wake of this tragic incident, the FRSC urges motorists to prioritize safety by adhering strictly to traffic rules and regulations, as well as heeding all traffic cautions on the road. This appeal underscores the importance of responsible driving to prevent such avoidable crashes and the loss of precious lives.
