Governor Makinde Urges Oyo Pilgrims To Uphold State’s Image During Hajj

Addressing the pilgrims during a farewell ceremony in Ibadan, the state capital, Governor Makinde emphasized the importance of adhering to regulations and exhibiting exemplary behavior throughout their pilgrimage journey.
He underscored the significance of staying focused on the sacred purpose of their pilgrimage, urging them to avoid actions that could tarnish the image of Oyo State and Nigeria as a whole.
Governor Makinde also directed the state’s Hajj officials to prioritize the welfare and safety of the pilgrims, emphasizing that their well-being should not be compromised under any circumstances.
Furthermore, he provided assurances regarding infrastructure improvements aimed at enhancing the efficiency of future Hajj operations, including plans to upgrade the Olodo Hajj Camp and facilitate direct airlifts from Ibadan Airport.
Governor Makinde reaffirmed his commitment to fulfilling these initiatives within the stipulated timeframe, ensuring a smoother and more seamless experience for pilgrims in the coming years.
In attendance at the ceremony were esteemed dignitaries including the Chief Imam of Ogbomosoland, Sheikh Teilat Ayilara, and Senator Monsurat Sunmonu, among others, underscoring the significance of the occasion.
