The university, situated in Isiokpo, Rivers State, aims to offer a top-tier education that prepares students for the challenges of tomorrow.
With a curriculum spanning across four major colleges—Management and Social Sciences, Art, Science and Computing, and Engineering—Wigwe University is set to offer diverse programs tailored to meet the needs of the modern world.
However, quality education often comes at a price, and prospective students should be prepared for the financial commitment. The institution’s fee structure, though, indicates that attending Wigwe University may come with a hefty price tag, potentially making it one of the most expensive universities in Nigeria.
A glance at the school’s website reveals that tuition fees vary across colleges. The College of Arts, the most affordable option, comes with a total fee of ₦9.6 million.
Meanwhile, students enrolled in the College of Engineering, College of Management and Social Sciences, and College of Science and Computing will incur a total fee of ₦11,998,800 each.
These fees encompass various aspects of the educational experience, including tuition, books, laboratory supplies, personal protective equipment, and more. Additionally, students have the option to select from a range of accommodation plans, catering to different preferences and budgets.
In a strategic move, the university has opted to allow international students to pay their fees in dollars, while local students can pay in naira. This decision reflects the institution’s commitment to fostering diversity and attracting students from around the globe.
As Wigwe University prepares to open its doors, it signals a new era in higher education, promising to deliver excellence and innovation to its students.
