Political Figures In Rivers State Laud Wike’s Commitment To Tinubu’s Agenda

This group, comprising former and current leaders from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), All Progressives Congress (APC), and Labour Party (LP), alongside respected Elder Statesmen, Community Leaders, Youth, and Women Leaders, lauded Wike’s support for Erastus Awortu during the 2021 Local Government Chairmanship election.
They also commended Awortu’s administration for its efforts in addressing issues of insecurity and deteriorating infrastructure within the region.
During a recent visit to the council’s chairman in Ngo, the group expressed admiration for his achievements as his tenure approaches its end. Additionally, they pledged unwavering support for his re-election campaign.
Mabel Ogolo, the National Women Leader of the GrassRoots Development Initiative (GDI), underscored the significance of Wike’s decision to appoint Erastus Awortu, noting the positive impact it had on restoring peace and addressing development challenges in Andoni.
Sampson Ngerebara, a prominent APC member and gubernatorial candidate in the 2023 general election, lauded Awortu’s administration for translating his vision into tangible outcomes for Andoni. He highlighted the administration’s focus on infrastructure development and human capacity building, leveraging the resources of the people.
In response, Awortu, the Council Chairman, expressed gratitude to the leaders for their steadfast support amidst the political turbulence in the state. He commended their loyalty to Wike, a former governor of the state, and reiterated his commitment to the progress and development of the region. Awortu emphasized his stance against collaborating with politicians whose past actions have hindered the peace and prosperity of the area, stating his preference to forego a second term rather than compromise on this principle.
