Landlord And Husband On The Run After Allegedly Disposing Tenant’s Body In Canal
A disturbing incident has emerged from the Temidire community in the Ifo Local Government Area of Ogun State, where a landlord identified as Bola Abiodun and her husband, known only as Sunday, are reported to have fled after disposing of their tenant’s body in a nearby canal.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

According to reports from Punch, the incident occurred around 12:05 pm on May 8, 2024. The tenant, referred to as Iya Ibukun, had been involved in a hit-and-run accident on May 5, 2024, sustaining injuries. Fearing the burden of medical bills, she resorted to self-medication but tragically passed away in her apartment a few days later.

Instead of alerting authorities or seeking assistance, the landlord and her husband allegedly removed the deceased’s body from the apartment and disposed of it in a canal nearby.

The disappearance of the couple prompted a manhunt by the state police command, as suspicions grew regarding their involvement in the alleged crime.

Residents, alarmed by the suspicious circumstances, reported the incident to the chairman of the Community Development Association, Mosuru Akindele.

Confirming the incident, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, revealed that while a two-year-old boy was found in the care of welfare authorities, efforts to locate the victim’s body in the canal were ongoing.

The tragic case highlights the urgency of addressing issues related to medical access and the protection of vulnerable individuals within communities, while also underscoring the importance of accountability and justice in cases of suspicious deaths.
