Breaking: 2027 ADC Senatorial Candidate D!es In The United States.
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) senatorial candidate for Delta South in the 2027 general elections, Dr Austin Avuigwerie Orette, has died.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
According to a statement signed by his media strategist, Henry Ovie Ebireri, Orette died in Houston, Texas, United States. The cause of his death has not been disclosed.
Orette hailed from Owhelogbo in Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State.
Before venturing into politics, he spent several decades practising medicine in Nigeria and the United States.
The late politician was initially a founding member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State before leaving the party in early 2026 to join the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC).
His departure from the APC reportedly followed disagreements over what he regarded as undemocratic practices within the party.
However, his stay in the NDC was also short-lived, as he resigned in mid-2026 following disagreements over the party’s primary elections.
Orette subsequently joined the ADC, where he secured the party’s ticket to contest the Delta South Senatorial District seat in the 2027 elections.
Before his death, the politician was involved in a legal dispute with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) over the omission of his name from the final list of candidates for the January 16, 2027 election.
He had approached the Federal High Court in Abuja, seeking ₦1 billion in damages from the electoral commission.
Orette argued that INEC had wrongly excluded his name despite his claim that he won the ADC direct primary with 10,950 votes.

2027 Election: Kaduna APC Tells Atiku To Quit Presidential Race, Says Odds Are Against Him.
The Kaduna State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has urged African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar to abandon his 2027 presidential ambition and support President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
The party warned that Atiku could no longer rely on votes from Northern Nigeria, claiming that the region had thrown its support behind Tinubu’s administration.
Kaduna APC Publicity Secretary, Mohammed Sani Haruna, made the remarks on Monday during a press briefing.
According to the party, the large crowd that attended Tinubu’s presidential campaign flag-off in Kaduna on Saturday demonstrated the North’s growing support for the President.
“I am categorically calling on him to withdraw from the race. Already, the odds are against him,” Haruna declared.
The APC spokesman also called on Atiku to reciprocate what he described as Tinubu’s past political support for the former vice-president’s presidential ambition.
Haruna further accused Atiku and other opposition figures of exploiting ethnic, religious and regional sentiments in a bid to win the support of Northern voters.
He also dismissed allegations that attendees at Saturday’s rally had been paid to participate or that videos showing the crowd were generated using artificial intelligence.
According to Haruna, many supporters arrived at the venue several hours before the event, while some reportedly spent the night there in anticipation of the rally.
He maintained that the turnout reflected genuine support for Tinubu and demonstrated the President’s backing in the North ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
