Taraba State: 18-Seat Bus Accident Leaves Multiple Passengers Injured
An unfortunate incident involving an 18-seater bus belonging to Kakara Transport Nig. Ltd. unfolded in Gashaka Local Government Council of Taraba State.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
The accident occurred shortly after the old bridge, just a few meters from Serti, the administrative headquarters of Gashaka Council, resulting in several passengers sustaining varying degrees of injuries.
Reportedly traveling from Gembu to Jalingo, the driver lost control of the bus after the two back tires burst.
Eyewitnesses informed DAILY POST that overloading was a likely factor contributing to the accident.
According to one witness, the overloading led to the bursting of the two back tires.
The bus subsequently somersaulted three times before finally coming to a halt after colliding with a dry piece of wood.
While thankfully no lives were lost, numerous passengers suffered injuries ranging from fractures to internal injuries.
A senior staff member of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) confirmed awareness of the accident but stated that the extent of the damage was yet to be fully determined.
Eyewitnesses reported that some of the injured passengers received immediate medical attention at a nearby hospital and were said to be responding to treatment at the time of this report.
