Eddie Hearn Explores Anthony Joshua’s Path In Heavyweight Boxing
Eddie Hearn, the promoter of Anthony Joshua, has outlined the various options available to the British-Nigerian heavyweight boxer in the world of boxing.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

After suffering consecutive defeats to Oleksandr Usyk in 2022, Anthony Joshua has been steadily climbing back up the ranks of the heavyweight division. With three consecutive knockout victories between 2023 and 2024, Joshua currently ranks as the third-best heavyweight boxer, behind Tyson Fury and Usyk.

Hearn discussed the potential paths for Joshua’s future, acknowledging that a potential matchup between Joshua and American boxer Deontay Wilder could postpone Joshua’s title fight.

“Anything can happen, honestly,” Hearn stated during an interview with Boxing Social. “There have been a lot of conversations obviously, we know that the Riyadh season card has been locked in for Los Angeles on August 3rd and also there is the possibility of that London card at Wembley in September.”

He continued, “Then you have got Wilder-Zhang, then you have got Hrgovic-Dubois, see what happens with the IBF title but literally anything can happen.”

Hearn highlighted two key factors shaping Joshua’s future: the potential vacancy of the IBF title and the allure of a fight with Wilder. He expressed confidence that if Wilder emerges victorious against Zhang, discussions surrounding a Joshua-Wilder matchup would resurface.

“That is definitely a fight that His Excellency likes, ‘AJ’ is up for that fight, he would of course love to win a heavyweight world title again, and he would love to fight the winner of Fury-Usyk but at the moment nothing is locked in, because of all of the upcoming fights,” Hearn explained. “We will see what spits out on May 18th and June 1st.”

The anticipated bout between Tyson Fury and Usyk on May 18 is expected to leave the IBF world title vacant. Meanwhile, Filip Hrgovic and Daniel Dubois are set to contend for the vacant title on the Artur Beterbiev vs. Dmitry Bivol undercard on June 1, 2024.

Factional Crisis Rocks ADC In Akwa Ibom As Party Splits Deepen.

Barely a year after its inauguration in Akwa Ibom State, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has been plunged into a deep factional crisis.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Multiple factions are now locked in a struggle for control of the party, leaving members uncertain about the legitimate leadership structure.

One faction is led by John Akpanudodehe, a former National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), while another is headed by the embattled state chairman, Dick Duke.

Although the leader of a third faction could not be immediately confirmed, findings indicate that another group also exists within the party.

Sources further suggest that the Akpanudodehe-led faction is seeking to remove the current chairman through a recently held congress that has sparked controversy.

In response, Dick Duke convened a stakeholders’ meeting over the weekend, where he rejected the legitimacy of the said congress.

He said the party had formally written to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to distance itself from the exercise, citing a subsisting court order.

According to him, his tenure as state chairman is still valid until May, and any congress conducted before then would be unlawful.

Duke added that the party would only proceed with proper congresses after the expiration of his tenure and the resolution of legal issues, in line with due process.
