Recently, the Arewa Youth Consultative Forum (AYCF) and the Northern Awareness Network (NAN) raised concerns about potential plots by certain politicians to undermine President Bola Tinubu’s administration and his chances for reelection in 2027. These concerns arose amidst perceived attempts to interfere with the President’s cabinet, which has played a significant role in the administration’s achievements.
Yerima Shettima, President of AYCF, and Salifu Suleiman, Chairman of NAN, commended the progress made under President Tinubu’s leadership, attributing it to the dedication of his ministers and officials. However, they cautioned against threats to the integrity and stability of the administration’s team posed by opportunistic politicians seeking to disrupt the status quo.
The groups highlighted the indispensable role of Femi Gbajamiala, the Chief of Staff to the President, in advancing the President’s agenda and fostering effective communication within the administration. They emphasized the need to safeguard Gbajamiala’s leadership from political manipulation.
Shettima and Suleiman urged President Tinubu to remain vigilant and proactive in protecting his administration’s goals. They emphasized the importance of maintaining unity within the cabinet to counter any political challenges that may arise during the President’s re-election campaign.
The statement emphasized the contributions of key ministers to the administration’s success:
- Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, was praised for his role in modernizing infrastructure and attracting investments to Abuja.
- Olubunmi Tunji Ojo, the Minister of Interior, was lauded for his efforts in enhancing security and reducing crime rates.
- Festus Keyamo, the Minister of Aviation, was recognized for driving reforms and promoting efficiency in air travel.
- Abubakar Bagudu, the Minister of Budget, was commended for his prudent financial management and contribution to economic stability.
- Bello Matawalle, the Minister of Defence State, was acknowledged for his role in strengthening national security and combating terrorism.
- Hannatu Musawa, the Minister of Art and Culture, was praised for promoting Nigeria’s cultural heritage and artistic diversity on the global stage.
These ministers were hailed for their dedication and vision in their respective portfolios, contributing to the overall progress of the nation under President Tinubu’s leadership.
