Expressing his views in Port Harcourt on Tuesday, Nwuke stated, “We want stability in Rivers State. We want the progress of Rivers State, and we do want peace in Rivers State. We think that, as the saying goes, you cannot have two governors in a state that is one.”

Acknowledging the significance of unity, Nwuke emphasized the importance of advancing the collective interest over individual agendas. He noted, “Our people have looked at it very clearly and critically, and we have told ourselves that if you are interested in advancing the interest of self, there is nothing wrong with you playing with those who are in Abuja.”

Meanwhile, Governor Fubara has lauded the former Governor of the state, Peter Odili, while indirectly addressing certain individuals causing discord within his administration. Speaking during the commissioning of a health center in the Ndoni community, Fubara expressed gratitude to Odili for his unwavering support amidst the state’s challenges.

Highlighting Odili’s character and integrity, Fubara remarked, “We are also happy that he is standing with us. Even his person alone is giving people high blood pressure. They are restless, granting all sorts of media interviews.”

He continued, “I’ve said it before, and I’m saying it again: it doesn’t matter the number of people that stand with you. Even if you’re standing alone, no matter the side you’re standing, provided you are standing on the right side, maintain your stand.”

Fubara emphasized the significance of integrity and character, stating, “So, if we have one person who has integrity and character, is it not better than having 1,000 persons with questionable character?”

He concluded by urging continued support for Odili and commending his commitment to societal development, referring to his actions as a manifestation of the genuine ‘I’ agenda.

This celebration followed a heartbreaking 1-1 draw against Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final in Budapest on Saturday, where Arsenal ultimately fell in a penalty shootout after misses by Eberechi Eze and Gabriel Magalhaes. Despite the European defeat, the Premier League title held immense significance for the team, coming after three consecutive seasons as runners-up.
