Buhari Encourages Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) To Back Tinubu’s Government....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Muhammadu Buhari, the former President, has urged the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) to throw its weight behind the administration of his successor, President Bola Tinubu. Buhari made this appeal during a meeting with members of the ACF on Wednesday.

In a post on his official X account, Bashir Ahmad, the former spokesperson for Buhari, announced the development. He stated, “Today, former President @MBuhari received a delegation from the Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF). During the visit, the former President made a strong plea to the regional forum, urging them to fully support President @officialABAT and his administration in the effective implementation of their policies and programs.”

In response to purported comments by the Northern Elders Forum (NEF) regarding the 2027 presidential election, Rev. John Joseph Hayab, the former Chairman of the Kaduna State chapter of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), criticized the timing and rationale behind the statement. Hayab expressed his disagreement with NEF’s suggestion of boycotting Tinubu in the upcoming election, arguing that it is premature to discuss an election that is still three years away. He also remarked on the economic progress under Tinubu’s leadership compared to Buhari’s tenure.

THE REFINERY SHOCKWAVE: Dangote Set To Stop Selling Petrol To Major Marketers In Unprecedented Move!.

Published

on

The Dangote Petroleum Refinery is reportedly weighing a policy to discontinue petrol sales to licensed importers in Nigeria. Insiders reveal that the potential shift is driven by a desire to safeguard product quality, given concerns over the standards of foreign-sourced fuel. The refinery fears that if imported fuel is mixed with locally refined products before hitting retail stations, consumers and regulators won’t be able to distinguish Dangote fuel from imported alternatives, which could tarnish the brand if quality issues emerge.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

As noted by Vanguard, a source close to the refinery questioned the logic of investing heavily in premium domestic production only to have those products blended with questionable imports and tied back to Dangote’s name. Another source emphasized the necessity of a distinct separation between refinery-produced goods and third-party imports or blends to prevent market-wide quality failures from being incorrectly blamed on the facility.

Additionally, Dangote is reportedly uneasy that companies continue to import petrol despite expanded domestic production, pointing to data showing that imported fuel accounted for roughly 43 percent of total supply in July—a trend the refinery argues restricts the local market share for Nigerian refiners. Consequently, insiders indicate the facility will pivot to prioritizing marketers who do not hold import licences, potentially cutting off supply to those continuing to import under the federal government’s approved framework.

The six companies holding active import licences granted by the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) are:

  • Matrix Energy

  • A.A. Rano

  • AYM Shafa

  • NIPCO

  • Pinnacle Oil and Gas

  • Bono Energy

These permits, distributed in May, span a total volume of 720,000 metric tonnes, with individual company quotas ranging from 60,000 to 150,000 tonnes.

COURTROOM TO WORLD STAGE! D’Tigers Boss Fizdale Confident In Nigeria’s World Cup Charge!,

Nigeria’s head coach, David Fizdale, expressed optimism about the D’Tigers’ qualification prospects for the 2027 FIBA Basketball World Cup following a convincing 100-84 victory over Cape Verde in their final game of the fourth qualifying window on Sunday. Held at the Salle Multidisciplinaire de Radès in Radès, Tunisia, the win improved Nigeria’s record to five wins and four losses in the African Qualifiers. Having faced early setbacks against Cameroon and South Sudan, the team established early dominance by jumping to a 9-0 lead, closing the first quarter at 23-9, and expanding their advantage to 52-35 at halftime and 76-54 heading into the final quarter.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Reflecting on the match, Fizdale emphasized that securing the fifth victory was vital to keeping them in contention, noting that reaching five wins places them within striking distance for the upcoming window. Stellar individual performances fueled the victory, led by Caleb Agada, who racked up 26 points—including eight three-pointers from 11 attempts—along with six assists in under 24 minutes, crucially halting a fourth-quarter push by Cape Verde. Josh Okogie narrowly missed a triple-double with 15 points, 10 assists, eight rebounds, and four steals; Ike Nwamu contributed 14 points; and Chimezie Metu added 12 rebounds, six points, and four assists.

Fizdale also highlighted the team’s long-awaited improvement from beyond the arc after struggling with their shooting accuracy in earlier games. The D’Tigers will now look ahead to the final qualifying window scheduled for February 2027, where the leading two teams in each group, alongside the best third-placed side, will secure their spots at the 2027 FIBA Basketball World Cup in Qatar.
