The Kebbi State House of Assembly has taken disciplinary action against Hassan Umar, the member representing Birnin Kebbi North Constituency, by suspending him due to alleged reckless comments and disruptive behavior. According to the statement, Umar’s suspension was a result of his unguarded remarks and his involvement in inciting some members against the House leadership. The assembly, during its Executive Session held on Friday, April 12, 2024, unanimously agreed to suspend Umar for his actions.
The statement highlighted further offenses attributed to the lawmaker, including fostering discord between the Executive and the legislature within the House.
In a separate incident, Aisha Galadima, a prominent political associate of former Kaduna State governor Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, was arrested in Kaduna. Sources indicated that her arrest was allegedly linked to a Facebook post criticizing Governor Uba Sani.
