Following his observance of prayers on Wednesday to mark Eid-el-Fitr in Okene, Kogi State, Governor Ododo stressed the significance of Ramadan beyond mere sustenance, emphasizing its spiritual essence and call for compassion.
“The month of Ramadan goes beyond mere consumption of food and beverages. It serves as a period for spiritual reflection and fostering empathy towards one another,” he remarked.
Governor Ododo highlighted Ramadan as a time for cultivating patience, empathy, love, and understanding within communities. He urged everyone to uphold these values beyond the fasting period.
“Let us sustain acts of kindness, generosity, love, and empathy in our daily interactions. Ramadan prompts us to remember the less fortunate and extend a helping hand to those in need,” he reiterated.
Addressing the recent tragedy in Omala Local Government, where numerous lives were lost, Governor Ododo informed journalists about the apprehension of suspected perpetrators.
“In response to the recent disturbances in Bagana, Omala Local Government, we have taken action by apprehending suspected sponsors. This crisis is not new and dates back over 45 years. We are dedicated to restoring peace to the area,” he asserted.
“As of now, the captured suspects are cooperating with investigations, providing valuable leads for apprehending others involved. Once the investigations conclude, the findings will be shared with the public,” Governor Ododo assured.
