Keyamo Confirms Emirates Airline’s Return To Nigeria, Cites Presidential Diplomacy
Keyamo Confirms Emirates Airline’s Return To Nigeria, Cites Presidential Diplomacy....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has confirmed that Emirates Airline is poised to resume flights to Nigeria, signaling a positive development for air travel in the country.
Keyamo revealed during an interview on Arise Television that he has received a letter from the airline indicating its intention to recommence operations in Nigeria. He attributed this progress to diplomatic engagements spearheaded by President Bola Tinubu during his visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) following strained relations between the two nations.
Emphasizing the significance of Tinubu’s diplomatic efforts, Keyamo clarified that previous reports of the airline’s return were not false but perhaps premature. He underscored the collaborative resolution of issues between Nigeria and the UAE, facilitated by diplomatic shuttle diplomacy.
Expressing optimism, Keyamo announced that Emirates is expected to announce the date for resuming flights soon, noting that the airline has completed necessary preparations. He hinted that the return could happen before June, pending the acquisition of aircraft for the route.
The suspension of Emirates flights to Nigeria in 2022, alongside the halt in visa applications by the UAE Immigration Department, had impacted travel between the two countries. However, with diplomatic interventions yielding positive outcomes, the imminent return of Emirates signifies a significant step towards revitalizing air connectivity between Nigeria and the UAE.

“A New Nigeria Is Possible”: Peter Obi Ignites Massive Hope In Bold NDC Presidential Acceptance Speech.
Following his official nomination as the 2027 presidential candidate for the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi has extended his gratitude to party leadership, including National Chairman Seriake Dickson, the National Secretary, members of the National Working Committee (NWC), and his supporters nationwide.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
In a statement released on Sunday, Obi formally accepted the nomination with “deep humility,” emphasizing that the mission transcends his personal ambitions. He framed the 2027 election as a critical opportunity to restore hope to a nation struggling with economic uncertainty, widespread anxiety over safety, and a growing loss of faith in governance. “A New Nigeria is Possible,” Obi declared, positioning this belief as the guiding principle for his campaign and the path forward for the country.
Addressing the nation’s fragmentation, Obi argued that Nigeria’s diversity should be a source of strength rather than division. He called for a deliberate effort to replace mistrust with confidence, urging citizens to unite under a singular destiny regardless of ethnic, religious, or political differences. Citing the historian Will Durant, he warned that a nation that destroys itself from within is vulnerable to collapse, stressing that healing and national cohesion are essential for progress.
On the critical issue of insecurity, Obi highlighted a concerning trend: Nigeria has slipped in the Global Terrorism Impact assessments, moving from the 8th most affected nation in 2022 to 4th in 2026. Contrasting this current reality with Nigeria’s historical legacy as a respected global leader in peacekeeping and conflict resolution—having deployed disciplined and professional troops to missions ranging from Rwanda to Lebanon—Obi asserted that the government’s primary duty is the protection of life and property. He concluded by pledging to confront the nation’s security challenges with absolute resolve and urgency.

2. “We Won’t Rest Until They Are Free”: Makinde Breaks Silence On Shocking School Abduction.
Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, visited the Oriire Local Government Area this past weekend to meet with families and community leaders impacted by the recent kidnapping of students and teachers. The Governor expressed deep empathy for the affected families, acknowledging their ongoing anguish and anxiety. “I understand the pain and anxiety that many of you are experiencing at this moment,” Makinde stated, promising that the state remains fully committed to bringing the victims home safely.
Providing insight into the rescue efforts, Governor Makinde revealed that he is personally overseeing the operation, holding strategy meetings with security commanders twice daily—often continuing late into the night. While he noted that certain tactical details must remain confidential due to the unpredictable and dangerous nature of the captors, he emphasized that every possible resource has been deployed to ensure a successful rescue.
Reflecting on the nature of the crime, the Governor expressed his shock, noting that the targeting of nursery and primary school pupils is a troubling and unprecedented development in the country. He strongly urged the public to avoid politicizing the tragedy, calling instead for unity across all levels of government to ensure the safe recovery of the victims. “This is not the time to trade blame… This is a time for unity,” he asserted.
The incident follows a violent invasion of two communities in Oriire LGA on May 15, 2026, which resulted in two fatalities and the abduction of several pupils and staff. The situation has grown increasingly dire, as the suspects have previously circulated a video showing the killing of teacher Michael Oyedokun. Furthermore, recent pleas for intervention have been issued by other captives, including principal Folawe Alamu, who urged the Governor to act swiftly to save the remaining hostages.

Davido Defends His Right To Criticize Nigeria Amidst Explosive Political Backlash!.
Nigerian music sensation David Adeleke, widely known as Davido, recently entered a heated social media confrontation after advocating for entertainers to take a stronger stand against the country’s prevailing injustices and economic difficulties. In a candid post, the singer admitted that he and his fellow entertainers have failed to sufficiently address the nation’s worsening situation, stating that the crises in Nigeria have become too dire for influential figures to stay quiet.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
“I can’t lie, we entertainers… we dey fk up, I won’t lie, including me. We need to speak up. It’s too much injustice going on. Our country don go,” Davido wrote, sparking a wave of polarized feedback.
While some users appreciated his call for accountability, others were skeptical of his sincerity. One user, Princess Luna, accused the singer of hypocrisy and suggested his activism was merely performative, linking him to the “City Boy” political movement. She retorted, “Na God go punish you and your family. Go and do that performative rubbish in your City Boys group chat and get out of my face with all this pretentious nonsense. Na foolish Nigerians I blame”.
In response, an agitated Davido defended himself by firmly denying any affiliation with the “City Boy” group. He reminded his critics that he has voiced disapproval of the government in the past, including during American media appearances, at which point he claims he was attacked by Nigerians rather than supported. Addressing his relationship with “ST,” Davido clarified that their bond is strictly personal and does not represent a political alliance, adding, “I’ve been friends with ST for years and that’s where it stops, and I call and complain to him all the time, even in person”. The exchange concluded with the singer sharply rebuking his detractor.
