Speaking in a statement released to media members in Benin, Edo State—as highlighted by Naija News—Imasuagbon urged citizens, especially in the North, to back the ADC’s presidential flagbearer, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, portraying him as a unifying figure capable of resolving Nigeria’s economic hurdles.

According to Imasuagbon, Atiku possesses the necessary political background and administrative capability to heal national fractures and maintain consistency without letting the populace down. Furthermore, Imasuagbon pointed out that Atiku intends to reopen Nigeria’s land borders with adjacent nations as a primary economic strategy, contending that previous border closures damaged legal commerce and fueled inflation on food and commodities. He stated that restoring border trade would boost regional commerce and bring down prices nationwide.

“Beyond trade, Atiku’s economic blueprint directly targets the crippling cost-of-living crisis with a bold commitment to reverse the fuel subsidy removal implemented by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration,” Imasuagbon stated.
