Nigerian singer and songwriter, Olawale Ashimi Oloforo, popularly known as Brymo, has boldly stated that he would prefer to go to hell than sign under Davido, Wizkid, or Burna Boy……..READ ALSO
During a recent QnA session on Curiosity Made Me Ask with comedian and social media personality, Adebayo Ridwan Abidemi @isbae_u, Brymo made this unapologetic statement.
This isn’t the first time Brymo has expressed controversial opinions, as he’s known for speaking his mind despite attracting criticism.
When asked if he would sign with Davido, Wizkid, or Burna Boy, Brymo replied coldly, “Don’t worry, I will just go to hell. They need recording deals.”
The 37-year-old singer, who had a stint in Chocolate City alongside MI Abaga, Jesse Jagz, and Ice Prince, also mentioned that he turned down a lucrative offer in 2012 to revive his career.
Explaining his departure from Chocolate City, Brymo cited the lack of desired outcomes from his popular tracks. Consequently, he chose to forge his own path and create songs with deeper significance.
Unlike Burna Boy, who included his name in his lyrics (“Hustle make you no fall off like Brymo”), Brymo stated that he wouldn’t reciprocate the favor.
Despite facing backlash for his outspokenness, Brymo’s talent as a vocalist is widely acknowledged, positioning him as one of the top vocalists in Nigeria and possibly Africa.
