The inferno, believed to have been sparked by faulty electrical wiring, engulfed the studio, reducing it to ashes and devouring millions of naira worth of music equipment and personal belongings.

In a heart-wrenching account, Chinyere Udoma revealed that she received the distressing news while en route to the airport, only to arrive at the scene to witness her life’s work consumed by flames.

Located within the Eko Akete Jakonde Estate, the studio served as a sanctuary for creativity and expression, now reduced to a haunting memory of what once was.

Expressing her anguish, the gospel singer lamented the negligence of her concerns over the hazardous wiring, highlighting a desperate plea for preventative action that tragically fell on deaf ears.

“It was a really tough Tuesday for us at @cgvmstudios Lagos. In just a few minutes, everything we’ve worked so hard for, worth hundreds of millions, was gone, consumed by flames,” she wrote.

You need to love yourself. You need to have time for your family, your loved ones, because as the work would go, the family would be there,” she said.

Akindele further emphasised the importance of self-care, self-love and making time for family, noting that professional success should not come at the expense of personal well-being and relationships.

He said, “Nigeria is hectic, but it is still home. When you go to other countries, you will realise how far we are from where we should be. But the vibe and energy are still there. There is a hustle spirit that comes with being Nigerian. I really wish the country was better.

“I don’t want to spend the rest of my life living in Nigeria. I don’t think that there is any successful person who wants to live in Nigeria after retirement. Maybe there are some people. But the way I picture my retirement is living in a big ranch and raising some animals. That is not a thing that is in Nigeria.”
