This revelation comes as WAEC responded to the tribunal’s subpoena to produce and present the authentic documents on behalf of Governor Uzodimma.
Presenting the documents to the tribunal, Omifenwa Tajudeen Tunbosu, the Head of Administration at WAEC Headquarters, confirmed the authenticity of Governor Uzodimma’s academic credentials.
The first document provided was a CTC of Uzodimma Goodhope Odidika’s West African Examinations Council General Certificate of Education, dating back to June 1982. The second document was a CTC of Uzodimma Goodhope Odidika’s confirmation of the statement of result, originally dispatched by WAEC to the office of the Senate President in December 2014.
Tunbosu testified before the tribunal, affirming Governor Hope Uzodimma as the rightful owner of the WAEC certificate, thereby validating its legitimacy.
Presided over by Justice Oluyemi Akintan-Osadebay, the tribunal accepted these documents as crucial evidence in the ongoing legal battle.
The presentation of these genuine documents by WAEC comes amidst claims by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and their candidate, Samuel Anyanwu, challenging Uzodimma’s victory in the Imo State governorship election. Central to their argument is the alleged forgery of Uzodimma’s WAEC certificate.
