Reports noted that just days before his passing, his children, Kira and Haleemah, publicly shared his advanced stage-four cancer diagnosis and appealed for medical support.

Beyond Ogogo, several other prominent figures in the Nigerian film industry lost their lives to various forms of cancer:

  • Alexx Ekubo: The celebrated actor passed away on May 11, 2026, at the age of forty at Evercare Hospital due to complications from advanced metastatic kidney cancer, a condition he kept largely private. He was renowned for his roles in popular films such as Weekend Getaway, Lagos Cougars, The Bling Lagosians, Omo Ghetto: The Saga, and A Sunday Affair.
