During an interview with the Punch, Okonkwo made it clear that while he identifies as a child of God, he does not claim the title of a man of God. His reasoning behind this decision stems from his reluctance to shoulder the immense responsibilities associated with such a role.

A Stark Warning: Churches as Breeding Grounds for Evil

Okonkwo did not mince words as he delved into his concerns about the misuse of religion for personal gain. He expressed dismay at how some self-proclaimed men of God exploit the unwavering faith of their followers to amass wealth and power for themselves.

The seasoned actor did not stop there. He went on to deliver a chilling indictment of certain churches, suggesting that they have become hotbeds of immorality and malevolence. With unflinching conviction, he declared that these institutions have effectively become “the devil’s headquarters.”

A Call for Reflection and Reform

Okonkwo’s remarks serve as a wake-up call, prompting a critical examination of the moral integrity of contemporary churches. By shining a spotlight on the darker side of religious institutions, he challenges both leaders and congregants to uphold the true principles of faith and righteousness.

As his words reverberate across social and traditional media platforms, they ignite conversations about the role of religion in society and the need for accountability within religious circles.

Courageous Voices in a Time of Controversy

In a landscape often dominated by silence and conformity, Kenneth Okonkwo’s outspoken stance offers a refreshing departure from the norm. His willingness to confront uncomfortable truths underscores the importance of fearless honesty in confronting societal issues.

As the debate surrounding his statements unfolds, one thing remains clear: Okonkwo’s bold declaration serves as a catalyst for introspection and, perhaps, a catalyst for positive change within the realm of faith and spirituality.

Looking Ahead: Towards a Renewed Vision for Churches

As Kenneth Okonkwo’s words reverberate, they beckon us to envision a future where churches are beacons of light, integrity, and compassion. It is a future where the true essence of faith guides every action and where the pursuit of righteousness eclipses the allure of earthly gain.

In this journey towards renewal, Okonkwo’s voice stands as a testament to the power of truth and the enduring quest for spiritual enlightenment. And as we navigate the complexities of our times, his message serves as a guiding beacon, illuminating the path towards a brighter tomorrow.

Nigerian singer Omawumi Megbele, popularly known as Omawumi, has said that love has always been transactional.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

She made the statement during an interview with Pulse while reacting to ongoing debates about modern relationships being overly transactional.

According to the ‘Bottom Belle’ singer, the concept isn’t new but has evolved over time, becoming more demanding compared to earlier years.

She explained that in the past, simple gestures like buying ice cream or popcorn were enough to impress a woman, but today, expectations have grown significantly due to modern lifestyle and economic realities.

Omawumi also noted that society often exaggerates the transactional nature of relationships by overlooking the role women play in reciprocation. She added that many men who complain about such dynamics often choose partners with expensive tastes.

“Love has always been transactional. Women have always been demanding since the beginning of time. Back then, you could impress your crush with ice cream and popcorn, but now it’s something like an iPhone,” she said.

In a related development, the singer recently spoke about her past relationships with late rapper Dagrin and late producer Dokta Frabz during an interview with Jay On Air.

She described her relationship with Dagrin as purely platonic, noting that they were close and spent time together but were never romantically involved, despite past rumours following their 2009 collaboration, “Thank God.”

However, Omawumi confirmed that she was romantically involved with the late producer Dokta Frabz.

The ruling was delivered on Wednesday by Justice James Omotosho following an application filed by the Registered Trustees of Break the Silence Foundation, a civil society organisation.

The group approached the court through its counsel, asking for permission to seek an order directing the police to conduct a more thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the singer’s death.

The suit lists the Inspector-General of Police, the Nigeria Police Force, and the Commissioner of Police, Lagos State, as respondents.

Mohbad died in September 2023 in Lagos, a case that sparked widespread public outrage and calls for justice both within Nigeria and internationally.

In its ruling, the court allowed the group to pursue orders compelling the police to carry out their statutory duties under the Police Act, including questioning individuals last seen with the singer such as his wife, close associates, and his father, and taking further action where necessary.

The court also approved substituted service on the Lagos State Police Command through the office of the Inspector-General of Police’s Legal Department in Abuja.

The case has been adjourned to May 4 for further hearing.

According to court documents, the organisation argued that the initial investigation into Mohbad’s death was inadequate and possibly compromised.

It further claimed that although a nurse linked to his treatment before death was arrested and prosecuted, several key persons were not properly investigated.

The group also noted that although the matter was initially moved to Abuja for a fresh probe following public pressure, it was later returned to Lagos without a conclusive outcome.
