Today commemorates a significant event – Water Day, dedicated to honoring the essence of life: water. Water: Our Lifeline

Every cell, tissue, and organ in our bodies relies on water to function optimally. From regulating body temperature to eliminating waste, water stands as our body’s ultimate ally. Yet, its significance extends beyond mere thirst-quenching; water plays a vital role in agriculture, hygiene, and energy production. Its value transcends the confines of the tap. Pollution: A Persistent Threat

Despite its critical importance, our water bodies endure constant pollution from plastic waste, industrial runoff, and chemicals. This not only harms aquatic ecosystems but also directly endangers human health. Contaminated water breeds diseases like cholera and dysentery, depriving many of their right to clean water. It’s imperative to recognize that clean water is a fundamental right, not a privilege. Why Preserve Clean Water?

Maintaining the cleanliness of our water bodies is crucial for sustaining life on our planet. Clean water supports ecosystems, agriculture, recreation, and cultural practices. Moreover, it’s a matter of justice. Water pollution disproportionately impacts marginalized communities, exacerbating social inequities. Protecting our water bodies is synonymous with safeguarding the future of humanity. Taking Action

On this Water Day, let’s pledge to enact change. Whether it’s reducing plastic consumption, supporting clean water initiatives, or educating others on water conservation, every effort matters. Remember, the actions we take today can create a ripple effect of change for tomorrow. Celebrating Water Day entails more than acknowledging water’s importance; it’s a call to action. It reminds us that water is finite, and preserving its purity is our shared responsibility. By safeguarding our water bodies, we’re not merely preserving a resource; we’re securing a future where clean water flows abundantly for all. Let’s make every day Water Day.

‘If Dem Born You Well, Call My Name!’: Aisha Yesufu Fires Back At Wike Over Failed NDC Bid

Human rights activist Aisha Yesufu has hit back at FCT Minister Nyesom Wike following his recent remarks regarding her unsuccessful attempt to secure the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) senatorial ticket for the FCT.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

During a gathering in Rivers State on Saturday, Wike had poked fun at the activist for her primary election loss, asserting that political success requires more than just media visibility and suggesting she struggled to navigate the realities of “ordinary NDC” politics.

In a sharp response posted to her handle, Yesufu challenged the Minister to address her directly, warning him that the consequences would be severe. “If dem born Wike well, make e call my name with his full chest! What Tambuwal did to him in 2022 will be child’s play,” she retorted.

Yesufu further turned the tables on the Minister by referencing his own political setbacks, specifically his failed bid for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential nomination in 2022. She alleged that Wike’s subsequent attempts to lobby for the vice-presidential slot were also rejected, and she accused him of sabotaging the PDP following his primary loss.

Maintaining that Wike lacks the moral authority to criticize her political experience, the activist indicated that she is waiting for him to name her specifically before she escalates her response. “Let me wait make the man get liver mention name! Then the man doing boi boi because he has to be in power to have authority will know those of us from Kukuruku empire of Edo State in South South no dey grovel,” she added.
