In a shocking turn of events, three teenagers have been apprehended by the Delta State Police Command for orchestrating the fake kidnapping of one of their peers and extorting a hefty sum of N700,000 from the victim’s parents…….CONTINUE READING

According to SP Bright Edafe, the spokesperson of the command, the trio, all 17 years old, were nabbed shortly after receiving the ransom. The statement released by Edafe highlights the audacious nature of the scheme, emphasizing the disturbing trend of youths resorting to illicit means for financial gain.

“These three suspects, mere teenagers at 17 years old, colluded to stage the abduction of one of their friends in Agbor. They brazenly contacted the parent of one of the conspirators, demanding a ransom. Their nefarious activities came to an abrupt end following their arrest after successfully extorting N700,000,” the statement disclosed.

The incident serves as a stark reminder of the consequences of seeking shortcuts to success, with Edafe urging young individuals to exercise restraint and integrity in their pursuits. He lamented the troubling reality of youths engaging in criminal behavior at such tender ages, underlining the importance of upholding justice in such cases.

“The sad reality is that these adolescents, instead of focusing on legitimate endeavors, resorted to criminality. It is disheartening to witness individuals so young adept at perpetrating such deceitful acts solely for monetary gain. Moreover, the subsequent efforts of their parents to shield them from accountability only perpetuate the cycle of injustice,” Edafe remarked.

As investigations continue, authorities remain resolute in ensuring that justice prevails, serving as a deterrent to future acts of delinquency and deception within society.
