A Nigerian man from Nnewi, Anambra state, expresses frustration as he reveals the extensive marriage requirements presented by his bride’s family.

Expressing his dismay, the man criticized the escalating costs associated with marriage customs in the country, denouncing the behavior of his future in-laws as excessively greedy.

He wrote, “The marriage list we received this morning… I’m speechless. This is outrageous… and it seems to be getting worse every day.”

“Before you argue that this list is inexpensive, consider the cost of a crate of Amstel malt at #9,200. This is sheer greed… We all have responsibilities at our umunna meetings, both locally and abroad.”

The case was scheduled to be heard at Snaresbrook Crown Court on Tuesday, September 15, 2026. However, the hearing could not proceed as planned because the charge sheet was not available.

The court has rescheduled the plea and trial preparation hearing for February 8, 2027, at which point Poco Lee is expected to enter a plea of guilty or not guilty. According to reports, the main trial is set to begin on March 8, 2027.

Poco Lee previously appeared before the same court on September 11, 2026, at which time he was granted bail.

Following his release on bail, Poco Lee spoke about his experience during a video call with social commentator VeryDarkMan. He maintained his innocence regarding the sexual allegations against him, stating his conscience is clear. He expressed that his primary concern during his time in custody was the welfare of his associates and the disruption to their business activities.

He said, “I was just being myself. God sees my heart. My only worries were about my people. Jago could not do anything business, and I didn’t want to stress anyone. If I was inside there and I did what I was accused of, I would have felt I was paying for my sins, but since I knew I didn’t do what I was accused of, my mind is pure.”
