Governor Otti emphasized the importance of reigniting inter-house sports and other competitions in schools as a means of nurturing talent from a young age. He directed principals of secondary schools to prioritize inter-house sports activities, highlighting the collaboration between the State Ministries of Youths and Sports and Education to reintroduce Physical and Health Education in schools.
Highlighting his administration’s commitment to sports development, Governor Otti announced plans to professionalize sports management in the state. He revealed ongoing discussions with foreign and local investors to explore opportunities for developing and harnessing the talents of young athletes. The reactivation of the Nsulu Games Village in Isiala Ngwa North is a testament to the administration’s dedication to this cause.
Governor Otti outlined a comprehensive grassroots sports development program, which includes infrastructure upgrades, training initiatives, and exposure opportunities for talented athletes.
