At the Lagos Parallel Market, where currency traders operate, the buying rate for a dollar stands at N1510, while the selling rate is N1520. This information is sourced directly from Bureau De Change (BDC) outlets.
It’s important to note that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) does not officially recognize the parallel market. Instead, the CBN advises individuals seeking foreign exchange transactions to approach their respective banks for legitimate forex dealings.
Black Market Exchange Rate Today:
- Buying Rate: N1510
- Selling Rate: N1520
In contrast, the CBN’s official rates for the dollar to naira transactions are lower, with a buying rate of N1409 and a selling rate of N1410.

In other economic news, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) recently released its report on diesel prices across Nigeria for February 2024. According to the NBS, the retail price of diesel surged by a significant 50.20% compared to the previous year, reaching N1,257.06 per litre. This sharp increase underscores the mounting pressure on fuel costs in the country.
