In a recent YouTube video, she delves into her journey post-discovery of a brain tumor necessitating surgery.

However, the tumor’s removal unearthed new challenges. Shortly afterward, Craig noticed adverse reactions to pain medication.

She recalls, “Four days post-surgery, I began feeling unusual, unable to pinpoint the cause. My appetite waned, I struggled to sleep, and weight loss ensued. Initially attributing it to potent pain relief, I later discovered side effects such as insomnia, hallucinations, and depression.”

Researching the medication’s side effects prompted a shift to a less potent alternative, albeit after a 10kg weight loss.

Craig vividly recounts enduring multiple excruciating lumbar punctures during her recovery journey.

She shares, “During my last ER visit, amidst severe vomiting, my mother sought my doctor’s counsel to no avail. Undergoing four lumbar punctures in one day felt like torture. They were akin to spinal taps, aimed at extracting spinal fluid to diagnose suspected meningitis.” Subsequent tests revealed a malaria diagnosis, stemming from a recent trip to Nigeria. Prompt treatment led to her recovery.

Reflecting on the ordeal a decade later, Craig acknowledges her survival and newfound health. She candidly admits grappling with mortality, not solely from the brain surgery, but amidst the uncertainty of potential meningitis during the lumbar puncture phase.

“I genuinely believed I was on the brink of death,” she concludes.
